Naturally black hair and dark ash brown dye?

My hair is naturally black, somewhat wavy. fine in texture.

fair skin..what would happen if I used a dark ash brown color

over my black hair? would it lighten it or make it flat looking?

it probably wont change a bit! try it but your gonna waste money for nothing.

if you dont want to bleach your hair and have to go through all that damage, just use "oops" it takes the dark color out its NOT BLEACH it wont damage your hair as bad as bleach they sell it at walgreens must warn you the smell isnt that great but its worth it i use it all the time

Think about it. If you colored with a black marker, then took a light brown cream marker and colored over it, what would happen? Nothing, you can't cover black color with another color. don't do it, it will dry ur hair, if it does anything possibly make it brassy in patches. go to a professional and see about lighter highlights, this way it is gradual and not so hard on the hair.
