Okay is it good for your hair if you put a perm and higlights at the same time? Or should you wait a week or so? And also what color higlights look good on dark-skinned women with short hair?

if you get them done professionally and you properly moisturize your hair afterwards then yes it's okay to do...i have a friend who relaxed her hair and got the whole thing bleached blond the next day and her hair was originally dark brown and her hair is still down her back

I would wait AT LEAST a week. Hold off as long as you think is appropriate though- everyone hair is different. The perm is damaging enough.

And I think a shade of lighter brown looks good as highlights.

NO NO NO!!!! THAT IS A BIIIIIIIIG MISTAKE I SUGGEST THAT U HAVE HIGHLIGHTS IST THEN WAIT 6-7 DAYS THEN GET A PERM DONT DO IT THE OTHER WAY AROUND CAUSE THE HIGHLIGHT WILL LAST LONGER THAN A PERM AND THE PERM WONT LOOK THE SAME IF YOU DO IT 1ST ANYWAY PLZ VOTE ME #1

Don't ever put a perm and a color together or you will be bald. it soften you hair and make it more prone to breakages.

No absolutely not, don't do it.

I wanted to do the same thing when I was 16, my mom let me get highlights but I needed a perm at the same time. Wait AT LEAST 2 weeks in between the highlights and the perm. I don't think it matters which one you get done first, but don't get them done at the same time, you're hair will look bad and be in bad shape if you put those many chemicals in your hair at one time. Any color that is lighter that you're natural hair color will mess it up, and a relaxer has very strong chemicals as well. Just wait 2 weeks before you decide which one to do first.

As for which color to use it depends on you, the stylist should be able to figure out which color is best for you depending on your skin tone.

I am dark skin and I have burgundy it looks good on me cause people actually stop me and ask me what color is in my hair nerver got that before with drk brown highlights. It is good to wait a 2 wks before getting highlights if u don't want to wait that long get a rinse it can go in at the same time as a perm but it will just be all over not highlighted also they have a new perm that you can actually use at the same time i don't know the name but if you know where a sallys beauty salon is you can ask them.

Well if u go to the shop/salon, let them decide how long to wait. most of the time, they kno what there doing. and the products they use may be okay if u want it done all in the same day.

now, if ur doing it urself or a friend or family member is doing it, i would say wait two weeks or 5 hair washes (which ever is first if u wash ur hair everyday).

any lite color looks good on dark skinned ppl. bcuz it will stand out and bring out the color in the persons skin and skin tone. but just to be on the safe side, use a lite shade of brown like golden brown, or something like that.

and REMEMBER if u r not useing a booster, get the color a few shades lighter then the one u want becuz ur hair is dark and the lighter color will soak in better and look like the color u really want. it wont b as lite on u becuz ur hair is dark.

if u do the perm second....it WILL change the color of the highlights.

I heard you should wait a week or two i would suggest brown or something warm that would bring out your eyes.
